Hey, I’m Alex Munoz.

I’m a senior Media Advertising major at IU. Like many, I didn’t grow up thinking I’d pursue a career in Advertising — in fact, at one point I even considered dentistry. Have you seen the state of people’s mouths these days? Ugh —  imagine.

Anyways, what drew me to Advertising is its reliance on storytelling, emotion, and human psychology. If you look around, you’ll find that people are very interesting creatures. We have on average only 80 years of life, yet spend precious minutes deciding which shampoo to buy, what T-shirt to put on, and what car to drive. In today’s world, the products we consume & brands we support act as extensions of ourselves. From VSCO girls to brat summer, we live & breath media.

What has kept me pursuing Advertising is the challenge of always learning. In an ever evolving society, I’m always looking to understand what motivates consumers & what influences their behavior. I’ve become addicted to seeing my ideas & work come to life, having real influence on people.

Overall, I’m grateful to be in a field that embraces creativity, rewards unorthodox ideas, and encourages an endless pursuit of knowledge.

Things I love besides Advertising:
